The face behind primal performance

Hey, I'm Holly! I am passionate about releasing the inner elite in every individual. Founder of Primal Performance, my approach to optimal health combines the power of the breath, the state of the mind, and the functional movement of the body to optimize performance.

Like many, I started in this industry completing my Certificate III & IV in personal training, but quickly realized that there has to be more to performance and wellness. At this same time, I was playing semi- professional netball, so performance was (and still is) very close to my heart. My performance on court reflected what I did off court. It was a value of mine. Being an athlete from a regional area I wanted to give upcoming athletes an equal opportunity to reap the benefits of training as a high-performance athlete. So Primal Performance was born.

With a Bachelor of Psychological Science and a member of the Australian Psychological Society, my knowledge in mental peak performance allows me to provide transpersonal, resilience and mental toughness training for anyone looking to gain an edge. My work has recently been acknowledged, being invited into the Australian Insitute of Sport Women Leaders in Sport Program for my Psychology studies (Elite Potential Program). As well as gaining invaluable knowledge from Leading Sport Psychologist for the Australian Olympic Team, Georgia Ridler.

I’m a big believer in natural remedies and after my dad was diagnosed with sleep apnea, I sort out solutions that could reverse the condition. This led me to the lost art of breathing. I am certified with Oxygen Advantage as an Advanced Instructor and studied the Wim Hoff Method. I have dedicated countless hours to research and my own personal practice. I’ve researched the breath and learned how we can use breathing practices and techniques to positively affect every system in our body to improve mental and physical health. This path has led me to a new passion, Free-diving and currently a Molchanovs Wave 1 Certified Free Diver.

I have studied extensively through the CHEK Institute accrediting in Integrated Movement Science, Women's Health and Performance and Primal Pattern Movements. Growing up as an athlete, I use a biomechanical approach when coaching sport-specific training as well as primal and corrective movements to build a fully functioning body.

The further I traveled down the rabbit hole, the more I realized how fundamental this type of practice is to every human in life. From reducing stress and anxiety, increase energy levels, eliminating toxins, improving sleep, improving creativity, inducing flow states, increasing athletic performance, and improving cardiovascular health. I have blended these modalities of breath, mind and movement with my experience as a semi-professional athlete to create my own unique training and rehabilitation method. If you’re looking to improve your health and happiness in mind & body, breathwork can generally enhance every aspect of life.

My field of work is something very rare in regional Qld and is something I am passionate about and I'm keen to share my knowledge with people looking for an edge in life and sport.
